Kids' Ketch, situated in the former Franklin Hardware building in Downtown Lewes, first originated across the street in a 450 square foot shop in May of 1990. Owner, Teresa Ford, raising two young children at the time, felt there was a need for quality toys in the area. As anticipated, the store filled a much-needed niche and she soon moved out of her first store to a new location up the street, doubling in size. In late 1997, still yearning for more space, she and her husband Jim purchased the Franklin Hardware building on Second Street. In addition to toys, books and games for all ages, the store carries a broad selection of play wear for newborn to size 6x (winter season) and to size 14 (summer season.) "We like to say we carry the clothes kids love to wear- comfortable and stylish." says Teresa.
Over the years, running the shop has been a family affair, with Jim, her children, Jacob and Maren, and her mother, Mary Pritchett all working in the shop. Now there is a team of employees who provide the excellent customer service Kids' Ketch strives for. So, to all of our devoted Kids' Ketch shoppers, thank you for your continuing patronage and support. If you haven't met us yet, we hope you will stop in and say hi; there's always something new and fun going on here for kids of all ages.
